Located at the northern Santorini, there is a port below Oia village which is really a fine area and also beautiful place to visit called Ammoudi. Ammoudi Bay is small, a place where you will see the beautiful view of colorful volcanic rocks while under the village cruise ships are either parking at or sailing away from the port. Delicate fish taverns are what you should try there. It is a very good business In Ammoudi so you can find it easily altogether with numerous fine restaurants. Especially on peak season (in August), you might find it challenging to compete with other tourists to eat at the taverns. For those who seek for tranquil beach, Baxedes (or sometimes called Paradissos) is what probably you might like. It is located 3 km away north of Oia, a beach with black sand and pebbles. The beach is very calm and you can enjoy swimming here however pay attention to when to come here since summer wind of Aegean which goes north will make swimming becoming more difficult. Staying at Baxedes until sunset is recommended!

Close to Baxedes, another quiet beach called Kouloumbo is a good choice for relaxing. The water is clear blue the view of stunning Aegean Sea are what you are going to treasure. Located at 4 km northeast of Oia, the beach is accessible by vehicles. Tip: The beach, however, is not an organized one, so if you are planning to come, better to bring your own water and snacks or foods.

The beach is 10 km of the village of Fira. There you can see colorful pebbles, clear blue water and beautiful sunset. The pebbles are mostly reddish and sort of the same like found in Red Beach. Pori is an unorganized beach so you can relax more here without having to share the beach with other people. No sunbeds and umbrellas are found here, only traditional Greek tavern nearby which provides delicate fish. Some kilometers away from Pori beach you can find another calm beach: Vourvoulos. Swimming in Vourvoulos is fun to do, the only thing is you have to be careful at windy season.

Make a visit to Monolithos, located in the east Santorini, near National Santorini Airport. Originally means “One Rock” in Greek language, Monolithos is well-organized beach where hotels, traditional Greek taverns, shops, bars are easily found in the beach. The wind in Monolithos is ideal for watersports such as windsurfing, not to mention some playgrounds where kids can play. Monolithos is a good choice for family vacation.
