You may not know his name before, but you will surely never forget it after you visit Barcelona. Gaudi was born on 1852 and until 1926. Before he passed away, he designed many original houses in Barcelona and the whole Catalonia area, ordered by prominent people of the high class. Some of the most famous ones that can also be visited by tourists are Casa Batlló, Casa Mila (or else called Pedrera) and Palau Guell. Their uniqueness makes them a worldwide attraction and the curving and colorful designs are making the visit worthwhile.

CASA BATLLÓ

Casa Batlló was built between 1877 and remodeled in 1904-1906. Its structure is unique and makes a form of bones, to which also the reason why it’s called as Casa del Ossos (House of Bones) locally. Casa Batlló is located in Passeig de Gràcia and open for public to see how does it look like inside. Fee entrance is about (more or less) 20 Euros. Inside the house is more interesting; each design of Gaudi’s works are remarkably unique. The rooftop of Casa Batlló looks magical, makes a form of dragon’s skin.

CASA MILÀ

Casa Milà or La Pedrera was built between 1905-1910 for the married couple, Rosario Segimon and Pere Milà. This building is also located at Passeig de Gràcia, the same area where Casa Batlló is. Just like other works he designed, his buildings broke all the rules. You  could see his work is curvy and unusual, which then resulting in a unique design you can enjoy. In the early 1980s, Casa Milà was in a poor condition but now it’s been restored and its colors revived. The rooftop of Casa Milà also is unique, making a mask structure. From the top of its roof, we can see another artwork of Gaudi called Sagrada Familia.

Works were stopped during and after the Spanish Civil War.
